David Youngson is a Senior Adviser on financial and accounting issues for ChinaWhys. At the same time, David is a Director of IFMAsia, a special projects accounting firm headquartered in Beijing and working in alliance with ChinaWhys.

David has spent 18 years in the finance and accounting industries, during which time he served for a decade with Ernst & Young and acted as Asia Pacific Regional Finance Director for a global software company. He has been based out of Hong Kong and Beijing for the past 10 years.

David is expert in all areas of accounting and business controls and has a solid knowledge of IAS/US/UK GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley internal control reporting requirements. He was responsible for the financial reporting of a NYSE listed company's entire Asia Pacific operations. He previously advised senior executives of global multinationals on GAAP technical issues identifying and contrasting the impact of undertaking transactions in different regimes and jurisdictions across the Asia Pacific region.

David has also had significant experience in due diligence work across the Asia Pacific region. Aspects have included initial due diligence, closing balance sheet due diligence, joint-venture and deal structuring advisory, post-close due diligence and support, and ongoing accounting and taxation advisory. The industries he has served have included retail and wholesale, credit card businesses, the auto industry, hi-tech and cash flow-based real estate.

David is a member of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants and the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He speaks publicly on complex areas of accounting and has been acknowledged by many as a leader in such fields.
